Clearing the Storm Drain

At the end of our new neighbor’s driveway, there’s a storm drain that tends to get blocked by snow whenever the plow passes through. When the snow begins to melt, the water can’t flow properly, causing big puddles that freeze overnight and make the road slippery. A few times, I took it upon myself to shovel the snow off the drain, allowing the water to flow freely again. It’s a small task, but it feels like a quiet way to contribute to the neighborhood without any need for recognition. I like knowing I’m doing something to help out, even if it’s behind the scenes.
